YaleWomen Summer Picnic and Mentoring Event (with Optional Hike)

June 27, 2024, at 5:30 pm | Free Event

Harriet Keeler Picnic Area in the Brecksville Reservation

Please join us on Thursday, June 27, for our next YaleWomen event at the Harriet Keeler Picnic Area in the Brecksville Reservation, just 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland. Charcuterie-type appetizers will be served by Two Board Sisters, with the caterer providing a brief demonstration of how to prepare the salami rose for charcuterie boards – and then you can each make your own to enjoy!  We will also provide your favorite non-alcoholic beverages.

After our hands-on salami rose demonstration, attendees will be invited to share a brief anecdote about a meaningful mentoring relationship they have experienced and/or discuss the specific type of mentoring they would be interested in offering or finding. This will allow our group to reflect on those who have helped us along the way and expand the mentorship that we can offer within our own community.

Afterwards, those who are interested can participate in an optional 1.7 mile hike. In order to make the main event accessible to all, the picnic itself will be held very close to parking, at covered picnic tables. For those who do decide to participate in the hike, it’s a great opportunity to get credit for the Cleveland Metroparks Trail Challenge

In summary, the agenda will be:

  1. The caterer’s demonstration

  2. Food and fellowship

  3. Discussion on mentorship – who has been a great mentor in your life or what sort of mentoring are you seeking or able to provide?

  4. Hike (optional)

Please RSVP for each guest that will be joining so we can ensure we have sufficient food, drinks, and salami rose supplies.  Children who are too young to partake do not require RSVPs.
